adidas Creates One-Of-A-Kind Sambas Inspired By Iconic Mexico Shirts

The Mexico football federation gets the full special edition focus treatment from adidas, as the brand create six one-of-one Sambas, inspired by some of the nation’s iconic jerseys.

Following on from the recent reveal of the European club Samba collection, adidas turn their attention to the national game and specifically Mexico. The upcoming Mexico x Samba collection features a range of ultra-limited, one-of-a-kind sneakers, styled in different designs based on five iconic Mexican jerseys and one mash up hybrid. Each of the pairs are inspired by fan-favourite Mexico soccer shirts from the years 2008 to 2022, telling the history of the successful partnership between adidas and Mexico over the last 16 years.

The Samba continues to be a staple in terrace culture, and the brand lean into that with this latest collection, linking it with the support of the passionate Mexicans. The shirts in focus are the 2008 Mexico Home Jersey, 2014 World Cup Jersey, 2014 Mexico Away Jersey, 2020 Mexico Home Jersey, and 2022 Mexico Away Jersey, while the mash-up combines all five for a unique look. Despite their expected popularity, they won’t be available for purchase and instead adidas will be raffling these exclusive one-of-one Sambas through the CONFIRMED App, with entry available through to 16 October.
