Framed #25 | 1. FC Herzogenaurach v FSV Stadeln

Our latest 'Framed' chapter sees us stood at the touchline of German seventh tier side 1. FC Herzogenaurach. Bratwurst is one hand, pint in the other. FC Herzo, known as 'The Pumas' due to their intertwined history with the sports brand they share their home with took on FSV Stadeln in the Bezirksliga Mittelfranken 1 league. Beer, sausages, non-league dogs and a 2-0 win. Job done.

Being a town that homes the global headquarters of PUMA and adidas, the passion for football is strong in Herzogenaurach. For FC Herzo, they're 100% Team PUMA. The club's home ground 'Rudolf-Dassler-Sportfeld' takes its name from the founder of PUMA and the club has been kitted from head-to-toe in the brand ever since Rudolf packed up his studs, laces and leather, bid his brother farewell and set up camp on the other side of the river in the small Bavarian town.

Some description

Early-season, sun-soaked vibes were the order of the day as FC Herzo hosted FSV Stadeln. A unique club, a club where World Cup winning captain Lothar Matthäus began his career. FC Herzo is everything that's right about non-league, mixing the purity of non-professional players with the passion to win and send the locals home happy.

Some description

Beer garden in full flow, the freedom to roam around the ground, great food, cheap entry. Non-league football at its absolute finest. A community feel and a damn good day out. We caught up with a few of the players after the game as PUMA launched the PUMA x FC Herzo clothing collection. Released to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the club and PUMA's long-standing relationship with their local club.
