While Millwall go in search of a return to the Championship, we stepped inside 'The Den' to capture a stadium that has endured just about every angle of football. Highs and lows and so much more, this stadium is a place held in high regard with the Millwall faithful.
Captured by Henry Hunt, The Den has a story at every turn. A place where memories have been created with matches won, lost and drawn, this four sided theatre is a sanctuary come Saturdays.
Playing host to just over 20,000 at full capacity, The Den was opened in 1993. Following the Hillsborough Disaster it was the first all seater stadium to be built in England and sits just a mile away from 'The Old Den' which was the club's home from 1910. An origin of symmetry, the stadium offers a two tiered view and shines with blue and yellow throughout.
A place of intrigue that has seen average attendances settle at around 10,000 it's an interesting place for football that breathes that of an underdog spirit. A lions den for a player with fire in the belly, while they may be surrounded by Premier League clubs, there's no denying this is a club with fight and fans so incredibly passionate. It's one of true London grit.
