Paying tribute to the Three Stripes' football heritage, Pharrell Williams’ Humanrace teams up with adidas Originals for the AW22 Samba Capsule by Pharrell, which features an elevated reconstruction of the iconic Samba using premium materials.
Pharrell Williams and adidas have a nice little history together, with the musician’s Humanrace brand crossing the white line into the footballing world in the past, notably with the jersey collection in 2020 and the Predator Mutator of the same year, which arrived in an outstanding Accelerator-inspired colourway. Now the pair are back together for the AW22 Samba Capsule by Pharrell, which was inspired by sport and the community created surrounding it, placing one of adidas’ most iconic silhouettes at its heart.
Crafted with premium materials, the capsule collection features an elevated reconstruction of the iconic Samba using premium materials, while the apparel brings together elements from adidas’ rich football history and includes knit jerseys, shorts, and ripstop jackets. Night Grey and Cloud White bring a juxtaposing simplicity to the established adidas x Pharrell palettes, acknowledging the classic Samba in a way that brings it back to focus for a new generation. The finest leather and suede were used throughout the construction of the shoe – the tongue material updated to a moulded leather and a zig-zag stitching added on the three stripes to mimic the original Samba model.
The apparel boasts timeless colours and distinctive puff print details. The Knit Jersey and Knit Long Sleeve Jersey will be available in three colourways each – Night Grey, Semi Screaming Green, and Cloud White as well as Black, Cloud White, Hazy Orange respectively. The two forge a nostalgic connection to football culture through an exploration of timeless colours and archival cut lines.
The Woven Shorts are fabricated in a soft, premium woven material with a minimalist approach and available in colourways Night Grey, Semi Screaming Green, and Hazy Orange.
The Shell Jacket and Pant – available in Night Grey and Light Yellow – bring wearers straight to the pitch, crafted in classic ripstop for a premium execution.
