New Balance Launch New 'Lead The Hunt' Furon 6+ & Tekela v3

New Balance make their first on-pitch moves of the year, launching the latest evolution Furon 6+, known as 'Lead The Hunt', alongside a colour-up of the Tekela v3. Both boots will feature on the feet of New Balance’s roster of elite players going forward.

Getting a refresh for the season run in, New Balance have opted against launching a full blown next generation upgrade to their popular Furon model, instead tweaking it under the banner 'Lead The Hunt', giving it a new feel in a similar silhouette. And they’ve not forgotten the Tekela either, giving it a complementary paint job and presenting both together, ready for the chase for trophies as the season gets into the business end.

The newly retooled Furon, dubbed the 6+ (with not a v in sight) features New Balance’s next generation fit weave upper technology to provide lightweight stability, while the enhanced low profile knitted collar is the only tweak to the shape of the boot, offering better lockdown. It’s wrapped up in vibrant “Lime Glo/Citrus Punch” colourway that we’ve already seen on pitch on the feet of several pros, most recently Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze. Could he be set to follow recent recruit Bukayo Saka in signing with New Balance?

Speaking of the Arsenal man, you can expect him and other Furon wearers to switch into this colourway going forward, with Sadio Mané having already made the switch and scoring in them in Liverpool's Champions League win over Leipzig.

The Tekela v3 – New Balance’s first ever laceless boot – is given a new corresponding “Cyclone Grey/Bleached Lime Glo/Citrus Punch” colourway. The textured grey is the base colour of the boot, while the Lime and Citrus colourings pop through the upper. This look has already been debuted by Man City’s USWNT star, Rose Lavelle in recent weeks.
