adidas Drop The Copa Icon In "White/Core Black/Gold Met"

Keeping things pure and simple for the beginning of the new year, adidas drop the Copa Icon in a clean “White/Core Black/Gold Metallic” colourway.

Long gone are the days when there was just the Copa Mundial. No, nowadays adidas boast four lines of COPA: There’s the daddy of them all, the Copa Mundial, which is for the traditionalists; the COPA sense, which serves as the modern touch and comfort option for adidas contracted players; the grassroots specialist, the Copa Gloro; and then, nestled amongst them there’s the Copa Icon, a lighter version of the Copa Mundial that’s been upgraded for the modern game, and that’s where our focus is today with the release of a new, clean colourway.

The Copa Mundial was always traditionally a black boot, but here we get an inversion of that classic colourway, with the sparkling white base joined by black, notably on the Three Stripes and heels. The look is then elevated by the presence of golden accents that flash through the “Copa Icon” callout on the side as well as on the tongue and heel branding, where the brand’s performance logo comes into its own. Currently only available with a firm ground soleplate, this one is probably one to get with some fairer spring weather in mind.
