Residence #69 | 'Cívitas Metropolitano' Atletico Madrid

When you talk about some of the great stadiums in Europe, the Cívitas Metropolitano has got to be in the conversation. A history of disappointments prior to the current occupants, Atletico Madrid, taking up residence, after which it has become home of one of the fiercest teams on the continent. Now, it’s in focus as part of our ‘Residence’ series.

Residence #68 | 'Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia' Como 1907

You can’t beat a picturesque stadium, and they don’t get much better than Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, home of Como 1907, which sits right on the shore of Lake Como. An absolute must for Residence, our series that brings you right into the heart of stadiums around the world.

Residence #67 | 'CITYPARK' St. Louis City SC

New team, new stadium, and it’s fair to say that both St. Louis City SC and CITYPARK have got off to a great start. Now we bring focus to the latter as part of our Residence series, exploring the stadium from the ground up.

Residence #66 | 'Cashman Field' Las Vegas Lights

Few places in the world evoke images quite like Las Vegas; the bright lights of Sin City are set in the middle of the dusty Mojave desert, and it’s here that USL side Las Vegas Lights have their home in Cashman Field. Didn’t have to ask twice for us to make this the next stop in our Residence series. Viva Las Vegas!

Residence #64 | 'Elland Road' Leeds United

Few stadiums boast as much history and heritage as Elland Road, a ground that has pretty much seen it all. Sure, a touch up wouldn’t go amiss, but as it stands it is a bastion of the old school and a hallowed ground for fans. A safe house for treasured memories from a time when Leeds United dominated the English game, our latest 'Residence' comes from Yorkshire.

Residence #62 | 'Q2 Stadium' Austin FC

Welcome to Austin’s biggest backyard, home of the Verde. This is the Q2 Stadium, a 20,738 capacity soccer-specific stadium that opened in June 2021 and arriving as one of three new venues debuting in MLS this season.

Residence #61 | 'Stade Geoffroy-Guichard' Saint-Etienne

When the host cities were announced for EURO 2016 there was one ground in particular that stuck out for England fans. Saint-Etienne is a home from home for the Three Lions. Inspired by British stadia, the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard is a nostalgic cauldron of noise, a terraced treasure. The home of Michael Owen's France '98 wondergoal against Argentina. The home of ecstasy. The home of devastating heartache.

Residence #60 | 'Turf Moor' Burnley FC

Turf Moor is a proper British football stadium. To be honest we could just leave it at that and let you scroll through our photos, but we will elaborate on it because the home of Burnley FC deserves recognition as one of the most beautifully raw grounds in the Premier League. It's one we've been keen to tick off for a while, and with that it becomes the latest stop in our 'Residence' series.

Design Residence

Residence #59 | 'Brisbane Road' Leyton Orient

The next stop on our 'Residence' series, where we explore characteristic homes of football across the world, sees us jump on the Central Line and into East London to have a nosey around Brisbane Road, the home of Leyton Orient Football Club. A unique ground that blends a modern touch with a charming history typical of English football stadia.

Residence #58 | 'Casino Arizona Field' Phoenix Rising FC

Having forgotten to take a left turn at Albuquerque, we found ourselves in the Valley of the Sun, home to one of the USL’s most exciting teams, Phoenix Rising FC. And so it the 2018 Western Conference Champions’ home, Casino Arizona Field, located in the Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community, that became the 58th stop in our ‘Residence’ tour.

Residence #57 | 'County Ground' Swindon Town

Wandering into Wiltshire for the 57th and next stop of our 'Residence' tour we find ourselves staring upwards at the pylon floodlights that light up the County Ground, the home of Swindon Town Football Club. This is a stadium that has witnessed football through all four divisions of English professional football and has been shaped architecturally over 123 years, since it was first opened in 1896.

Residence #56 | 'Rasmee Dhandu Stadium' Maldives

Where there is land, there is football. The middle of the Indian Ocean might not be at the top of your list for an away day, but for the people of the Maldives it ain't just all beach football and cocktails. In stark contrast to the luxury resorts of this beautiful country stands the Rasmee Dhandu National Stadium on the capital of Malé – a tattered old ground, boxed in on one of the most densely populated islands in the world.

Design Residence

Residence #55 | 'Toyota Field' San Antonio FC

The next stop in our ‘Residence’ series sees us arrive in Texas, and USL side San Antonio FC’s home ground, Toyota Fields. While it’s well known that Texans love their football, ‘soccer’ has not always been as high on the agenda, but this could be set to change if plans pan out.

Design Residence

Residence #54 | 'Stadio Pierluigi Penzo' Venezia FC

Venice welcomes over 30 million visitors every year and almost all of them are missing one of the city's most picturesque landmarks. For the next stop on our 'Residence' tour we're hopping off the boat at 'Stadio Pierluigi Penzo' – one of the most unique football stadiums on the planet, and the home to Serie B side Venezia FC.

The next stop in our 'Residence' series sees us arrive in the South of France, staring up at the one of the most gloriously impressive roof structures in world football. This is the phenomenal Stade Vélodrome, home of Olympique de Marseille.

Design Residence

Residence #52 | 'University of Bolton Stadium' Bolton Wanderers

For the next stop in our 'Residence' series we find ourselves back in the North West and outside one of English football's most impressive stadiums from the new-build era. Inside the 'University of Bolton Stadium' we go, unsurprisingly the home of Bolton Wanderers.
