Corinthians Reveal 24/25 Nike Home & Away Shirts To Combat Racism

Under the motto of the campaign "Our history is a page in black", Nike and Corinthians joined forces to promote initiatives to combat racism and while they were at it, launch the new home and away shirts for the 24/25 season.

To bring a little context to the campaign under which Corinthians have released their new home and away shirts from Nike, at least 41 percent of the players and professionals who play in the main championships in Brazil have already suffered racism. It’s this type of statistic that demands action to combat the problem, and Nike and Corinthians have joined forces under the motto of the campaign, "Our history is a page in black”, to promote initiatives to combat racism as well as launch the new shirts for the season.

Alongside the initiatives, which include racial literacy sessions for athletes from the youth categories, professional squads (male and female) and employees, presented in partnership with the Observatory of Racial Discrimination in Football (ODRF), the kits stand as a focal point for the message, presented in stark contrasting monochrome looks.

Predominantly white, the new home jersey features white-to-black gradient details on the sleeves and hem of the shirt, while the away shirt is completely black, including the club crest. Due to its strength and representativeness, Corinthians and Nike chose to debut this version first, with it set to feature on Saturday, 4 May at the Neo Química Arena.

The athletes' names and numbers are displayed in a font created by designer and art director Giulia Fagundes. Inspired by the rich culture of the African diaspora, the typography is striking and complemented by a unique texture based on Adinkras symbols of Ghanaian origin. This visual approach celebrates the greatness and strength of the team, honouring its history and future, flirting with Afrofuturism.

Inside the collar, an emblem with a hand painted in black and white bears the inscription "Tamo Junto e Misturado", representing the importance of uniting everyone in the fight against racism.

"Since its foundation at the beginning of the last century, Corinthians has always been popular, inclusive and a defender of a democratic, multicultural sports practice," said the President of Corinthians, Augusto Melo. "But more needs to be done. That's why we're in this cause, together with Nike and other partners, in this fight against racism in a practical way, going far beyond campaigns and uniforms. Corinthians has always been and will always be the Alvinegro Paulista, the Black People's Team."
