Few players in the history of modern football, if any, have ever shared a relationship with their boots quite like that of Toni Kroos and his adidas 11PRO. And now, and so adidas honour the midfield maestro with a special limited edition 11PRO TK, which comes gilded in gold.
Toni Kroos is one of the greatest to play the game – a fact that should never be in doubt – and the midfielder is aiming to round off the 23/24 season by helping Real Madrid win their 15th Champions League. Throughout his career though, he has become synonymous with one boot: the adidas 11Pro. To the point where the two are now intrinsically linked, with the German International making it the most decorated boot in football history, winning four Champions League titles to date whilst wearing them.
Kroos has singlehandedly prolonged the life and presence of a boot that first debuted in late 2013, lasting a couple of years before being replaced by a newer model. See, Kroos never let go of his connection with the boot, and stubbornly persisted with it (despite the Three Stripes doing their best to get him into the COPA 19 back in 2018). So there could be no other boot for adidas to honour the German international with as they reveal the limited edition, golden 11PRO TK.
Late last year, adidas acknowledged Kroos’ legacy and attachment to the boot by rereleasing two versions of the 11Pro: an ultra limited version, designed to the exact specifications of Toni Kroos, and a wider release version that recreates the original, although gearing it up for the today’s game with some modern tooling.
But now it’s about honouring of one of the greatest midfielders of all time, and so the 11PRO gets restyled in tribute to a career paved with countless golden moments.
With only 5000 pairs available globally, the 11PRO TK features a clean, all-white colourway with golden accents. The Three Stripes branding also takes on that matching gold layered on crisp black, while monochromatic stitching across the lightweight leather upper gives the boots their distinctive quilted appearance. The clear gel adiPure soleplate provides reliable traction and is a direct nod to Toni’s original pair. Kroos’ signature has then been positioned on the outsole and on the insole, along with a golden electroplated heel.
From the drawing board to the pitch, the 11PRO TK was designed with direct input from Toni Kroos himself, ensuring they both represent and stay true to his style while meeting the highest performance standards of the game. “People have come to know me for my loyalty to the 11PRO,” said Kroos. “It’s definitely my signature boot and it was an absolute honour to collaborate with adidas on this special boot. I’m looking forward to wearing them on the field soon.”
